Today marks the end of a pretty great weekend – but I still have a few hours left to enjoy the sunshine and the time off from work and school.

I spent most of this morning working on the senior project, mostly working in some custom CSS (I’m not a programmer and this looks like gibberish) and installing plugins on the site. So far, it’s shaping up very nicely :) Both Miss Toth and I have spent hours either uploading, setting things up, or just generally getting the site to look awesome. Although the process has been time consuming, it’s also been very rewarding. I’m now starting to understand the more technical side of setting up a WordPress blog, as well as all of the time and effort that goes into getting it to look presentable. I didn’t do this alone though.

I have to give a huge thank you and shout out to my programming friend Tim Whitacre who has been so helpful throughout the process. Thank you, Tim!

Another thank you goes out to The Wood Word’s advisor, Ann Williams. She has been a rock throughout the entire process and is always there to help us get what we need to get done, well, done! Plus, she’s super awesome and the anchor of the entire staff.

Finally, Miss Amanda, you rock. It’s been awesome so far working with you on launching this site and I’m super excited to see what progress we make in the coming weeks as we start to plan a site launch party and other wonderful little details :)

Alrighty, time for me to grab some lunch, but before I do, I wanted to let you know that I’ll be spending the rest of my evening baking for the PRSSA Bake Sale tomorrow with some wonderful members. You guys are rock stars and hopefully, all of our delicious treats will come out well! For those of you in the Marywood community: The bake sale will be outside of First Stop from 10 AM – 2:00 PM. We’ll have regular, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as PB&J in fun shapes! Yum!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I know I will!

-Mandy

PS: I’ll write my impressions of the Media Relations Best Practices Summit later in the week :)
